Iqbal said Pakistan’s geographical location makes it a gateway between South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East, calling this a unique advantage that could turn Pakistan into a hub for trade, energy, and connectivity.
He praised the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for boosting the economy, noting that the BRI’s flagship project has created jobs and opened paths for development. He also urged more investment in renewable energy, especially solar power.
Iqbal discussed ways to introduce Pakistan’s textile industry to global markets. He said the industry has great potential due to its rich heritage. He also pledged to make Pakistan a centre for IT investments by improving infrastructure and supporting businesses.
“Asia is becoming the world’s economic centre. Pakistan can attract global investors,” he said. He added that economic diplomacy is key to Pakistan’s success in regional trade and investment.
