Islamabad (TDI): United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam have praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, particularly the role of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, in facilitating dialogue with the United States amid rising regional tensions.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dar received a call from Guterres on Tuesday, during which they discussed recent developments in the region and Islamabad’s ongoing diplomatic engagement with relevant parties.
The UN chief reportedly appreciated Pakistan’s “constructive role” in promoting peace and stability, with the United Nations expressing support for continued diplomatic efforts.
Separately, Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam also praised Pakistan’s foreign ministry, describing its diplomats as key facilitators of dialogue and international understanding.

In a post on social media, he highlighted the efforts of Pakistani officials in preparing and coordinating diplomatic talks, saying their work helped turn political intentions into practical pathways for engagement. He described diplomacy as a “patient and persistent effort” essential for achieving peace.
The ambassador also specifically acknowledged Ishaq Dar and his team for their role in supporting recent diplomatic processes, calling their contribution an example of “diplomacy in its truest sense.”

These statements follow a series of high-level discussions between Dar and foreign ministers from countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, and Egypt, all of whom have stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing the evolving regional situation.
