Pakistan’s Evacuation Efforts receiving Global Recognition

Islamabad, 3 September 2021 (TDI): Asim Iftikhar, Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared that Pakistan’s evacuation efforts are being applauded and appreciated by the international community. Pakistan has evacuated about 11,000 people from Afghanistan to thirty states and numerous international organizations, including European Union and the United Nations.

Since the Taliban took over Kabul, on 15 august 2021, hundreds of nationals of different countries have been attempting to flee Afghanistan. Pakistan has remained at the forefront in assisting not only Afghan people but also huge numbers of nationals of other countries along with the personnel of international organizations.

A number of officials and high-level representatives from around the world have praised Pakistan’s efforts in recent days, including IMF President Kristalina Georgieva, US Senator Lindsey Graham, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo, Danish Ambassador Lis Rosenholm, Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde, and European Council President Charles Michel.
