Islamabad, 3 September 2021 (TDI): Asim Iftikhar, Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, extended heartfelt congratulations to Socialist Republic of Vietnam on its national day. Every year on September 2nd, Vietnam celebrates its national day, commemorating the country’s independence from France in 1945.
Vietnam was divided into North Vietnam (Democratic republic of Vietnam) and South Vietnam (Republic of Vietnam) from 1954 until 1975. It was reunited in 1975 and declared itself as Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country with Hanoi as its capital. Pakistan and Vietnam share good friendly relations between them. There’s a huge prospect of stronger economic and commercial relations between the two countries. The potential sectors of economy include seafood, cotton, textile, pharmaceutical products, and rubber among others.
Vietnam also supports Pakistan in its bid to become a full dialogue partner of ASEAN, an initiative to maintain external relations outside of ASEAN region.
