Beijing, 19 February 2022 (TDI): An award ceremony was held virtually for the 2022 China Soong Ching Ling Foundation “Junior Cultural Ambassadors” contest on 16 February.
The event was jointly sponsored by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and China Cultural Centers abroad and China Soong Ching Ling Science & Culture Center for Young People.
Two students from Pakistan won the title of “Junior Cultural Ambassadors”. They are Sukhen Fatima and Ali Shaheryar from the Millennium Confucius Classroom and the Confucius Classroom at Cadet College Petaro.
The two students were recommended by the China Cultural Center in Pakistan as the “Junior Cultural Ambassadors”. All the contestants as well as some teachers of the Confucius Classroom at Cadet College Petaro and Millennium Confucius Classroom were invited to attend the online award ceremony.
The “Junior Cultural Ambassadors” activity was officially launched in June 2021. It was launched with the theme of “Build a Dream for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics”.
Under the program, the Chinese and foreign youth were invited to carry out cultural exchanges online. The program has attracted young people from all over the world to take part in the event.

China Cultural Center in Pakistan, along with the Millennium Confucius Classroom and the Confucius Classroom at Cadet College Petaro, responded in a positive and passionate manner to participate in the event.
Young people participated online from 32 countries to tell their stories about Chinese historical civilization and Beijing 2022 via videos. They also sent best wishes for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
There are 6 students from Pakistan amongst the 100 students selected for the primary selection. 30 winners of the global “Junior Cultural Ambassador” title, “Excellence Award” and 20 “Popularity Award” were selected after numerous rounds of selection by the event review committee as well as the online voting.
The 30 “Junior Cultural Ambassadors” include 10 from China and 20 from 18 overseas countries. Amroz Ali, Hafna Khan, and Muhammad Hasnain Ali from the Millennium Confucius Classroom in Pakistan and the Confucius Classroom at Cadet College Petaro won the “Excellence Award”.

Han Mingsheng and Li Youyan also won the “Popularity Award”. Ali Shaheryar’s (Xie Rui) entry video was chosen as an outstanding work for the exhibition at the award ceremony.
Sukhen Fatima (Suha) and Ali Shaheryar, in their acceptance speeches, articulated their ardent expectations for the Beijing Winter Olympics along with their best wishes for the China-Pakistan friendship on behalf of Pakistani youth.
China and Pakistan have contributed to cultural exchanges as well as joint learning and deepening the China-Pakistan friendship. “Junior Cultural Ambassador” is not only a title, Ali Shaheryar (Xie Rui) said, but also a source of motivation for him.
