Islamabad, 23 March 2022 (TDI): Pakistan Day has been celebrated with fanfare today, in the country as well as across the world by the Pakistani diplomatic missions.

The Embassy of Pakistan in China celebrated the day with national zeal. The celebration included the flag hoisting ceremony by Ambassador Moin followed by the recitation of the Holy Quran.

The Embassy of Pakistan in the United States (US) also joined the celebrations to commemorate the auspicious day. The Embassy wishes all Pakistanis, at home & abroad a very happy & prosperous 82nd Pakistan Day through a tweet.

This year Pakistan also celebrates 75 years of independence. The Embassy also shared the National Anthem of Pakistan. The National Anthem of Pakistan is a prayer for the Homeland’s safekeeping and prosperity as well as an oath taken by the people of Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Embassy in Moscow Russia also marked Pakistan Day. Pakistani diaspora, diplomatic staff, and people from different walks of life took part in the ceremony.

The Pakistani Ambassador, Shafqat Ali Khan hoisted the Pakistan flag. Pakistan’s national anthem was played on the occasion. Special messages of the President and Prime Minister were read by Deputy Head of Mission, Summar Javed, and Third Secretary, Muhammad Tayyab.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, Ameer Khurram Rathore hoisted the Pakistani flag at the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh today to commemorate 23rd March.

A message was also tweeted by the Embassy wishing all Pakistanis back home, in Saudi Arabia and across the globe, a very happy & prosperous Pakistan Day.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Senegal also shared a congratulatory message for fellow Pakistanis through its official Twitter account. The Embassy wished all Pakistanis, at home & abroad a very happy & prosperous Pakistan Day.

Further, the message expressed that it was a matter of great pride for Pakistan that OIC 48 CFM coincides with celebrations of 82nd Pakistan Day & Golden Jubilee of Pakistan.

Pakistan Day is a national holiday and is celebrated annually on March 23rd. The day commemorates the ‘Lahore Resolution’ of 1940, which ultimately led to the creation of Pakistan.

On March 23rd, 1940, the Lahore Resolution was unanimously passed which disavowed the notion of a United India along with proposing the establishment of an independent state for Muslims.

Pakistan Day is celebrated with an early morning parade in Islamabad as well as gun salutes in Islamabad and provincial capitals. The national flag of Pakistan is hoisted on all government buildings and departments.

Both the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan are present at the occasion. The President of Pakistan delivers an address on the occasion. Later he confers national awards and medals at the Presidency.
