Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan and Tajikistan on Friday agreed to further promote cooperation in fields such as communication, especially land-based connectivity, education, energy, and agriculture.
The understanding was reached during a fruitful meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Tajikistan’s Energy Minister Daler Jumma who called on him at the PM House.
They also discussed regional connectivity projects, including CASA-1000.
Daler Jumma is visiting Pakistan to attend the Pakistan-Tajikistan Joint Commission.
PM Shehbaz welcomed Daler Jumma to Pakistan and expressed satisfaction with the progress made in cooperation between the two nations in different sectors during the Joint Commission.
Recalling his tour to Tajikistan and his meetings with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Riyadh and Baku, the PM extended his best wishes to the Tajik leader and expressed hope that President Rahmon would visit Pakistan soon.
He expressed satisfaction with the memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and deals reached during his trip and emphasized that timely implementation of these deals would further strengthen bilateral ties.

The Tajik Minister thanked PM Shehbaz for the warm welcome and hospitality and stressed the significance of enhancing ties and cooperation between the two nations.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Energy Awais Ahmed Leghari, Minister for investment and communication Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik, Advisor to the PM Tariq Fatemi and other top government officials.
