Pakistan Seeks Czech Investment in Key Sectors

ISLAMABAD, (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on the sidelines of the World Leaders Climate Action Summit in Baku.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the longstanding and multifaceted ties between Pakistan and the Czech Republic, noting their strong collaboration in both bilateral and multilateral domains.

The two leaders discussed avenues for deepening cooperation, particularly in economic development, and addressed shared regional and global challenges.

Both agreed on the importance of expanding trade and investment, with Prime Minister Sharif emphasizing Pakistan’s strategic location as a gateway to Central Asia. He invited Czech businesses to explore investment opportunities in key sectors such as energy, technology, and manufacturing.

The conversation also touched on regional security and sustainable development, with both leaders acknowledging the need for continued joint efforts in these areas.

Prime Minister Sharif underscored the urgent challenge of climate change, which he described as one of the most critical global issues. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to environmental sustainability, despite being one of the countries most impacted by climate change.
