Pakistan launches Roshan Digital Accounts initiative for Overseas Pakistanis

Washington, 13 October 2021 (TDI): Pakistan has launched its first initiative for overseas banking under Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA). Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) is an initiative to improve and increase the remittance flow into Pakistan and, facilitate the diaspora.

Virtual training to Roshan Digital Accounts was provided by Pildat yesterday. Pakistan’s Ambassadors to USA Asad Majeed Khan and Ambassador to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bilal Akbar attended the virtual training. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to UK Moazzam Ahmed Khan was also present.

After the virtual training course, Pakistan’s Ambassador to USA Asad Majeed Khan remarked that RDA is an initiative that will strengthen ties of overseas Pakistanis with Pakistan. He also underlined the efforts of the Pakistan embassy in USA in the promotion of the initiative.

RDA is an initiative taken by the State Bank of Pakistan. It is the first-ever initiative that allows overseas Pakistanis to digitally open their bank accounts in Pakistan.

The RDA initiative is not limited to the overseas Pakistanis in the USA, but it is an initiative that is meant for all overseas Pakistanis around the world.
