Bishkek, 16 March 2023 (TDI): On March 16, 2023, the Pakistan-Kyrgyz Republic Trade & Investment Forum 2023 officially began at the Sheraton Hotel in Bishkek.
The two-day event includes workshops on trade, investment regulatory frameworks, and business-to-business talks, with the goal of building stronger trade and investment connections between Pakistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
The inaugural session of the Forum features notable speakers including the Chief of USAID Pakistan Regional Economic Integration Activity, Hussan Bano Burki, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Totuiaev Ulanbek Asankulovich.
Additionally, the Director of the National Agency of Investments under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Temiraliev Umbriel; the USAID/Kyrgyzstan Mission Director, Kaya Adams; and the President of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Ibraev Danil Tursunbekovich are also participating.
Moreover, the President of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sariev Temir Agrembaevich; the Chief Executive Officer of Nimir Industrial Chemicals Limited/Nimir Resins Limited Pakistan, Zafar Mahmood; and the Director General of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan, Muhammad Suleyman Khan will take part in the inaugural session.

The second day of the Conference includes a session on Trade, Investment Regulation Framework, and Opportunities.
During this session, the attendees will learn about the regulatory frameworks controlling trade and investment in both Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, particularly the banking and financial sector.
The Central/State Bank of Kyrgyz Republic and the Kyrgyz Regulatory Agencies will make presentations at the event.
On both days, business-to-business discussions will take place, allowing participants to form alliances, explore investment opportunities, and learn about each other’s products and services.
Following the lunch break, participants will have the chance to visit industries, manufacturing sites, and the Free Economic Zone “Bishkek” to obtain a better understanding of the Kyrgyz Republic’s trade and investment climate.
The Pakistan-Kyrgyz Republic Trade & Investment Forum 2023 has brought together government, private sector, and academic representatives to address the prospects and difficulties of bilateral trade and investment.
The event has the potential to serve as a catalyst for Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan to strengthen economic connections and build long-term collaborations.
