Pakistan Demands End to Israeli Blockade of Gaza

United Nations (TDI): Pakistan has called for the end of the more than a month-long Israeli blockade of Gaza and for unimpeded humanitarian access throughout the enclave.

Speaking at an OIC ambassadorial meeting, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad reaffirmed Islamabad’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, including the immediate and full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire deal, an end to colonization and forced displacement, including in the West Bank.

Since March 2, no food, medicine, fuel and commercial goods have been allowed into the enclave due to the Israeli blockade, and supplies are accumulating at crossing points.

In the meantime, the ceasefire announced in January following fifteen months of war has collapsed, amid Israeli airstrikes, renewed ground operations and rocket launches into Israel by Palestinian groups.
