Pakistan, Belarus Vow to Enhance Cooperation

Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on Tuesday reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral trade, economic ties, and mutually beneficial cooperation during a high-level meeting at the Prime Minister’s House.

Welcoming the Belarusian leader, the prime minister underscored Pakistan’s strong ties with Belarus, expressing optimism that the visit would pave the way for expanded collaboration in diverse sectors.

The discussions covered a range of topics, including political relations, trade and investment, defence cooperation, and regional issues.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress in Pakistan-Belarus relations over the past decade.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also briefed President Lukashenko on his government’s economic revival strategy, emphasizing export-led growth and efforts to attract foreign investment.

President Lukashenko, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended by the Pakistani leadership.

Earlier, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko was accorded a formal welcome ceremony at the Prime Minister’s House.

The national anthems of both countries were played, following which a contingent of the armed forces presented a guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.
