Amman, 26 July 2022 (TDI): The Minister of State for Media Affairs in Jordan, Faisal Al-Shboul, received the head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Karam Gabr, and his accompanying delegation.

Discussions on cooperation

During the meeting, the two sides affirmed the depth of the close strategic cooperation relations between Jordan and Egypt.

The Ministers highlighted how both states enjoy continuous care, attention, and direct guidance from Abdullah II and his brother, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

Adding to this, Al-Shaboul said, “the directives of Abdullah II always stress the need to maintain relations with brotherly Egypt in its distinguished framework at all levels, and for coordination and cooperation to always be at the highest levels.”

Moreover, he said, “our priorities are the same, our cooperation is one, and our horizons are limitless.”

Al- Shboul discussed the importance of joint coordination and the great convergence of views between the two brotherly countries.

For instance, both the states share the same views on the Palestinian issue and Jerusalem, and the frameworks of joint cooperation that take place at the bilateral level or through joint Arab initiatives.

Along with this, he expressed his aspiration to deepen bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the media field.

Furthermore, Gabr discussed that the directives of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi always emphasize that Jordanian national security is an essential part of Egyptian national security, and the need to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields.

Gabr also valued Jordan’s permanent support for Egypt and its stances, based on twinning and fraternal relations.

According to him, such things bind the two brotherly countries, additionally, he pointed out the relentless and constant endeavor of their wise leadership to enhance Arab action and achieve security and stability in the region.

Media cooperation and coordination:

Regarding the framework of media cooperation and coordination, Jabr highlighted the need to frame media cooperation between the two countries within a joint team to deal with any issues or topics of interest to both sides, in addition to the close cooperation between the official media institutions in the two countries.

The main meeting will be hosted by the Kingdom today and organized by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States / Media and Communication Sector – Administration of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, in cooperation and coordination with the Arab Commission for Satellite Broadcasting.
