Trump Says Iran War Could End ‘Very Soon’

Washington (TDI): US President Donald Trump has said the war with Iran could end “very soon,” while questioning who Washington could negotiate with in Tehran and reiterating that Iran must not obtain a nuclear weapon.

Speaking at a rally in Mobile, Alabama, Trump said the conflict could end shortly, possibly after the US midterm elections scheduled for November 3. He did not provide details on how an end to the war could be achieved.

Trump also questioned whom the United States could engage with in Tehran, saying there was no clear Iranian counterpart available for negotiations.

The comments came as diplomatic efforts remain uncertain and the US administration weighs its next steps in the conflict. Senior US national security officials also held a meeting at Camp David on Friday to discuss the Iran war and the escalating confrontation between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis in Yemen, according to Axios.

Trump has repeatedly said preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is a central objective of the US campaign. He said at the Alabama rally that US strikes had severely damaged Iran’s nuclear capabilities and that Tehran would require years to rebuild them. Those claims have not independently established the full extent of the damage.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s internationally recognized government said its forces carried out 71 operations against Houthi positions in the southwestern province of Taiz.

Yemeni military spokesman Colonel Majed Abdullah al-Nuzaili said the operations targeted Houthi combat gatherings, military buildups and reinforcements in several areas of Taiz, including Al-Aqrood, Sama’, Al-Ahkum, Al-Akboush, Jabal Rasin and Jabal Jardad.

According to the military statement, the operations destroyed several transport and support vehicles and caused casualties among Houthi fighters, although no specific casualty figures were provided. The Houthis had not immediately commented on the reported operations.
