Minsk, 5 August 2021 (TDI): A meeting between Vladimir Kukharev, the Mayor of the Minsk City Hall, and Xie Xiaoyong, Ambassador of China to Belarus, was held on 3, August 2021. In the meeting, both sides talked about the continued collaborative partnership between Minsk City and Chinese cities (including Beijing, Changchun, Shanghai, and Shenzhen) which is a total of 20 agreements.
Ambassador Xie said that the relation of strategic partnership, win-win cooperation, and mutual trust between China and Belarus has remained strong. In the sector of economy and trade, the two countries have achieved productive results, such as constant and steady construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in 2020, the two states have also collaborated in the health sector and China has supplied inactivated vaccines to Belarus. Other than the health department, Belarus and China are working together in the fields of education and culture. In the meeting, the Minsk City Executive Committee has shown its enthusiasm to maintain close ties with the Embassy of China in Belarus.
