Huzhou, 4 December 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Malaysia, Saifuddin Abdullah visited China at the invitation of the State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Wang Yi.
The Foreign Minister is visiting China to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Malaysia and China. The two countries are committed to collaborating for recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the visit, the two counterparts also co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the Malaysia-China High-Level Committee (HLC) on Cooperation in the Post-COVID-19 Era. Areas of mutual concern ranging from investment and trade to cultural and health diplomacy were on the agenda of the meeting.
Saifuddin Abdullah appreciated China for offering to send 2 million more doses of the Sinovac vaccine to Malaysia. Previously China announced 1 million doses for Malaysia. He reiterated that the two partners are willing to cooperate on vaccine production, development, and research.
Whilst visiting Huzhou, China, the Malaysian and Chinese counterparts reached the final stage of concluding MoUs on Digital Telecommunications Cooperation along with an agreement on Film Co-Production. These decisions were made aside from the pilot projects to expedite the return of Malaysian students to China.
China and Malaysia also signed three business-to-business deals during this visit. The deals have been signed between INIX Technologies Holdings & Professor Chuahua Zhao, GHHS Healthcare and Sinopharm (Tianjin) Asset Management Co. Ltd. and Riongtou Watch (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and INIX Technologies Holdings.
Malaysia and China will proceed to build their strong ties, by further strengthening bilateral cooperation to chart their way forward from the devastation caused by the pandemic.
