Vienna, 4 October 2021 (TDI): Kyrgyz Foreign Minister, Ruslan Kazakbaev had a meeting with the Director of the Styria Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), K-X Dernosheg. He also met with the Heads of Austrian companies in the field of digitalization, ICT, and infrastructure improvement.
Kazakbaev noted the importance of the development of industry, small and medium-sized businesses. He indicated that the Kyrgyz Republic is expressing deep interest to develop trade cooperation with Austria. The parties also discussed topical issues of economic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Austria. They noted the significant need to increase mutual trade between the two countries.
Minister Kazakbaev stressed the importance of continuing work within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Austrian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation. He also invited Representatives of the Styrian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to take part in the 1st EU-CA Economic Forum. It will be held on November 5, 2021, in Bishkek.
The parties also exchanged views on attracting investment from Austrian companies in the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic. They also discussed the prospects of providing “soft” loans (concessional lending). These techniques will help to implement the projects of Austrian companies in the Kyrgyz Republic.
