Tajik Foreign Minister meets his Pakistani Counterpart

Tehran, 27 October 2021 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin held a detailed meeting with Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister of Pakistan.

Both sides highlighted the importance of comprehensive exchanges at bilateral level. Also, discussed the current situation of Afghanistan. The meeting has an agenda of prevailing peace and stability in the region. Moreover, they recalled high-level exchanges when Pakistani Prime Minister visited Dushanbe for SCO summit. Also, Foreign Ministers reaffirmed to have closely decisions in this regard to achieve desired outcomes. Shah Mehmood Qureshi appreciated the role of Tajikistan in leading the role of Presidency of SCO.

Both sides highlighted the role of respective states in Afghanistan. Pakistani side shared importance of continued engagement with new Afghan government. Also, help Afghanistan to be politically and economically stable. However, these steps by both sides will help to achieve regional stability. Both sides will help to avert possible Afghan crisis. Moreover, Pakistani side assured of humanitarian aid and assistance through both, air and land routes.

Moreover, Foreign Ministers agreed to elevate bilateral relations between Dushanbe and Islamabad as well as with Kabul. Also, it will lead to regional connectivity. Central Asia is already concerned about new Taliban regime in Afghanistan and how to deal with the refugees case as well as trade with Afghanistan.
