Kyrgyz Foreign Minister attends OSCE Permanent Council Meeting

Vienna, 1 October 2021 (TDI): Kyrgyz Foreign Minister, Ruslan Kazakbaev took part in the meeting of the Permanent Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Minister Kazakbaev informed about the achievements of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of democratic reforms. He invited the OSCE International Observer Mission to take part in observing parliamentary elections that will be held in Kyrgyzstan on November 28, 2021.

Minister Kazakbaev expressed gratitude to regional partners for providing Kyrgyzstan with vaccines against coronavirus. Also, thanked European partners for assistance in obtaining anti-coronavirus vaccines. Kazakbaev invited his European colleagues to take part in the “European Union-Central Asia” Forum planned in November 2021. Joint actions to improve post-Covid developments were discussed.

The Permanent Representatives of the OSCE States expressed support for the ongoing internal political and economic reforms in Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, expressed their readiness to send OSCE international observers to the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic. The participants agreed to cooperate between the Kyrgyz Republic and the OSCE on Afghanistan. This initiative will bring peace and stability to the region.
