Astana, 12 October 2022 (TDI): Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan held talks with Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.
They meet on the sidelines of the 6th CICA Summit, to discuss the prospects for the expansion of bilateral relations between the two states. The Summit is being hosted by Kazakhstan in Astana.
A welcoming ceremony was held at the “Akorda” in the honor of Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. He is on an official visit to Kazakhstan. After a formal welcome, both counterparts officially had a meet-up to discuss bilateral relations and concerns.
The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed gratitude to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his warm welcome and hospitality. He also paid his appreciation for the invitation visit to Kazakhstan.
The President also thanked the counterpart for accepting his invitation. He expressed his happiness at the presence of the Emir of Qatar in Kazakhstan.
Comments of Both Representatives
The President stated that the State of Qatar is the most vital partner of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Middle East.
The government of Kazakhstan is keen to develop its partnership with Qatar. He hoped for the accomplishment of relevant agreements on the significant matters of mutual partnership.
Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stated that both countries relished a good partnership and developing bilateral relations. The collaboration between the two states in various substantial sectors is enhancing rapidly.

The Emir of Qatar demonstrated an eagerness to negotiate numerous agreements which will ensure the promotion of cooperation and coordination between the two states in several areas.
Both counterparts aimed to consider the above matters in expanded arrangements, with the presence of relevant Ministers.
The Emir of Qatar also aspired for the successful conduction of the Summit of the Council on Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures in Asia. The Summit meeting of the Council will be held tomorrow 13th October 2022.
