Ottawa (TDI): Pakistan and Canada have agreed to strengthen cooperation in postgraduate medical education, professional training and capacity building following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
The agreement was signed in Ottawa during a visit by delegations from both institutions, hosted by the High Commission for Pakistan.
The CPSP delegation was led by its President, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, while the Canadian delegation was headed by RCPSC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Christopher Watling, who holds a PhD.
The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in postgraduate medical education, training, capacity building and the exchange of best practices in areas of mutual interest.

The agreement aims to facilitate cooperation between the two institutions in strengthening medical education and professional development. Sharing expertise and best practices could help both organizations explore approaches to improving postgraduate training and building institutional capacity.
The partnership also provides a platform for continued engagement between medical education institutions in Pakistan and Canada, with a focus on areas of shared interest.
The signing reflects efforts to expand professional and institutional links between the two countries through cooperation in healthcare education and training.

The agreement marks a new step in collaboration between CPSP and RCPSC, with future engagement expected to focus on opportunities for knowledge exchange and the development of postgraduate medical education.
