Astana, 13 July 2023 (TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu today called for greater security and cooperation in Central Asia in his opening statement at the Central Asian Forum on Security and Cooperation “Asia in the Changing World: Agenda for the Future.”

 

The Central Asian Forum on Security and Cooperation is a two-day event that is being held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The forum is bringing together government officials, experts, and business leaders from across the region to discuss Central Asia’s challenges and opportunities in the 21st century.

“We are living in a time of great change,” Nurtleu said in his opening statement at the Central Asian Forum on Security and Cooperation. “The global order is being reshaped, and we must adapt to these changes in order to ensure our security and prosperity.”

Nurtleu expressed that Central Asian countries share a common interest in collaborating to tackle shared challenges, such as terrorism, extremism, and drug trafficking. He further encouraged enhanced cooperation in areas like trade, investment, and energy, acknowledging their vital role in fostering regional development.

In addition, Nurtleu highlighted the importance of economic cooperation in Central Asia, emphasizing the need to capitalize on the region’s economic strengths and foster integration. By doing so, he believes that sustainable development and prosperity can be achieved in the region.

Minister Nurtleu’s opening statement at the Central Asian Forum on Security and Cooperation highlighted the necessity of adapting to global changes to ensure security and prosperity in Central Asian regions.

He called for increased cooperation to address common challenges, emphasized the significance of economic collaboration, and stressed the importance of building an integrated region for sustainable development.
