Beirut, 10 February 2022 (TDI): Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon recognizes Lebanese efforts in the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

The Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon, Takeshi Okubo, praised Lebanese Alpine Skier Manon Ouaiss in a tweet. The Ambassador took to Twitter and wrote in Arabic:

“A wonderful performance in skiing by Lebanese Manon Ouaiss during the Winter Olympics in Beijing. She ranked 46 out of 88 athletes. great work!“

Manon Ouaiss

Manon Ouaiss is a 20-year-old Lebanese Alpine Skier. She studied at the Grand Lycee Franco-Lebanais d’Achrafie and obtained her French Baccalaureate with high honors. She speaks Arabic, French, and English.

Moreover, Manon is currently studying law at the University of Paris II Pantheon-Assas. She is in her first year of a Master’s degree in business law.

The Ambassador’s Cyber support

Nonetheless, the Japanese Ambassador to Lebanon was vocal about his support to the Lebanese teams in the 2022 Beijing Olympics. Consequently, he posted a tweet during the Beijing Olympics expressing his support.

Additionally, the tweet featured a picture of the Lebanese team who are participating in the Olympics in Beijing. Above it, the Ambassador wrote in Arabic:

“The Lebanese delegation participating in the Winter Olympics (Beijing 2022). I wish them good luck!“

The Lebanese Alpine Skier represented Lebanon in the Beijing Olympics where she ranked 46 out of 88 in the women’s slalom. On the other hand, the Slovakian athlete Petra Vlhová won the gold medal.

In second place came the Austrian athlete Katharina Liensberger. And thirdly, the Swiss skier Wendy Holdener won the bronze medal.

The Japanese Ambassador said through his Twitter that the participation of the Lebanese national team in the Beijing Olympics is a glimmer of hope.

He added that it is certainly a great encouragement to the Lebanese people under the multifaceted challenges. Finally, he the congratulated Lebanese delegation and wished them good luck.
