Italian Ambassador pays farewell Visit to Prime Minister Kakar

Islamabad, 13 January 2024 (TDI): The Italian Ambassador to Pakistan, Andreas Ferrarese, bid a fond farewell during a courtesy call on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar earlier today.

The meeting served as an opportunity to reflect on the Ambassador’s notable contributions to the enduring friendship between Italy and Pakistan.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed his gratitude for Ambassador Ferrarese dedicated efforts in strengthening bilateral relations. He commended the Ambassador’s role in fostering economic ties and facilitating cooperation across various domains.

Further, recognizing the longstanding amicable relations between Pakistan and Italy, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of enhancing collaboration in trade, investment, and various sectors, including migration and mobility, agricultural technology, education, and tourism.

The Italian Ambassador, in turn, conveyed his appreciation for the warm reception and excellent cooperation he experienced throughout his tenure in Pakistan. Ambassador Ferrarese also briefed Prime Minister Kakar on key developments witnessed during his diplomatic service.

Moreover, he highlighted the significant contributions of the vibrant Pakistani diaspora to Italy’s economic development, showcasing the robust ties between the two nations.

The meeting concluded on an optimistic note with Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar extending his best wishes to Ambassador Ferrarese for success in his future endeavors. This farewell exchange solidified the commitment to further strengthen the longstanding bilateral relationship between Italy and Pakistan.

In the preceding month, there was a recent diplomatic engagement in which Andreas Ferrarese, the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan, met with Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, at the Parliament House on September 6.

The discussion during that meeting focused on mutual interests, with a particular emphasis on prevailing regional dynamics and energy-related issues. The deliberations concluded with both parties committing to intensify trade and economic relations between Italy and Pakistan.

Pakistan holds its relationship with Italy in high regard, and the leadership is keen on elevating cooperation across multiple areas, with a particular emphasis on enhancing economic collaboration.

The government is actively fostering an environment conducive to successful international partnerships, with an overarching goal of economic growth and development.
