Beirut, 1 October 2021 (TDI): The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon, Abdallah Bou Habib, met with the Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Nicoletta Bombardieri.
The Ambassador conveyed the message of congratulations by Bou Habib’s Italian counterpart, Luigi Di Maio, on his assuming the role of the Foreign Minister. During the meeting, the two discussed bilateral relations and cooperation. Aside from that, they deliberated upon the demarcation of the border and the operations of the international emergency forces. The Italian Ambassador, on her part, presented the humanitarian and development projects undertaken by her country in Lebanon.
The economic relations between the two friendly countries can be traced back to World War II. Traditionally, Italy has been Lebanon’s first trading partner. The two countries are members of the Union for the Mediterranean.
