Islamabad, 15 October 2022 (TDI): The Huawei Middle East ICT Competitions 2022 are now accepting registrations. In Pakistan, this is the seventh time the event is being held.

The company aims to give students a place to compete and share ideas through the Competition in order to improve their ICT knowledge, practical skills, and awareness of innovation.

Likewise, the competition serves as a platform to collaborate between businesses, government agencies, higher education institutions, & training organizations as well as for linkages amid worldwide talent, fostering development & employment of ICT talent.

Pakistan’s national competitiveness will be enhanced by the development of ICT expertise. The emphasis will be on improving instructional methods and connecting with industrial progress.

This will help students grasp the employer’s point of view by expanding their ICT knowledge. Last year, Pakistani teams finished first and second in the global competition.

Furthermore, contestants will receive the most recent updates on emerging technologies that are altering Pakistan’s digital economy throughout the Huawei ICT Competition stages.

These include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and, most notably, the 5G internet, which is viewed as a critical facilitator of digital services.

The competition provides a unique opportunity for students to put their skills to the test in these cutting-edge sectors, while also assisting schools and institutions in better understanding the talent needs of today’s leading businesses and government leaders.

Roadshows and awareness events are already underway at over 80 institutions and universities across Pakistan, both onsite and online.

HITEC University Taxila, University of Peshawar, COMSATS University Islamabad, University of Management and Technology Lahore, SkillMate Multan, Bahria University Islamabad, Corvit Systems Lahore, Ibadat University Islamabad, University of Sargodha, and many others are just a few examples.

The number of registrants has already surpassed 10,000. Following the competition’s introduction, preliminary exams will be held in the next weeks, followed by national finals and, finally, regional finals.

To mention a few, the competition includes courses in Datacom, Security, Wlan, 5G, Cloud, Storage, and AI. Regional competition winners will get 20,000 USD, a Huawei certification trophy, internship possibilities, and Huawei Matepads.
