Islamabad, 26 August 2021 (TDI): German Ambassador to Pakistan, Bernhard Schlagheck appreciated the efforts of GIZ Pakistan in working for the betterment of the Afghan refugees in Pakistan. The German Ambassador asserted that the situation in Afghanistan and a large flood of migrating refugees are quite alarming situations. Moreover, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is difficult to keep people safe.
GIZ Pakistan opened Urban Cohesion Hub in Rawalpindi, Pakistan under the administration of the Pakistan Government and with financial support of the German Government. This hub is providing various services to Afghan refugees and Pakistani host communities.
Bernhard Schlagheck thanked GIZ Pakistan for providing its services in caring for Afghan refugees and for conducting different successful programs including social, educational, and legal support to Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
