Islamabad, 29 March 2022 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi will be visiting China from 29-31 March 2022. The visit comes after the invitation of the Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister, Wang Yi.

During his stay in China, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi will attend the third meeting of Foreign Ministers of Neighboring Countries of Afghanistan. Aside from that, he will interact with his counterparts from participant countries.

Earlier, the Foreign Minister of China also visited Pakistan to attend the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The visit to Pakistan was a part of Wang Yi’s extended visit to South Asia.

It is pertinent to note that Pakistan initiated the Neighbouring Countries format in September 2021 with an aim to review the evolving regional approach to the situation in Afghanistan.
