Karachi, 4 May 2023 (TDI): Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, expressed his eagerness to engage with countries in the SCO in a video message ahead of the SCO’s Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Goa, India.
He tweeted, “On my way to Goa, India. Will be leading the Pakistan delegation at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization CFM. My decision to attend this meeting illustrates Pakistan’s strong commitment to the charter of SCO.”
The Foreign Minister’s tweet further says, “During my visit, which is focused exclusively on the SCO, I look forward to constructive discussions with my counterparts from friendly countries.”
The CFM-SCO is taking place today and tomorrow. Bilawal is the first Pakistani Foreign Minister to visit India in more than a decade since Hina Rabbani Khar’s visit in 2011.
Bilawal will lead the Pakistani delegation at the meeting, underscoring the country’s strong commitment to the SCO’s charter.

Foreign Minister at the SCO CFM 2022
FM Bilawal Bhutto Zardari represented Pakistan at the SCO CFM meeting held in Tashkent from July 28 to 29, 2022, last year as well.
The official engagements began with a joint call by the SCO Foreign Ministers on the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed his gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him and his delegation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire further to strengthen the close relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
