Muscat, 1 October 2021 (TDI): Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the ruler of Oman sent a message of felicitations to Muhammadu Buhari, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The congratulatory message was sent on the occasion of the independence day of Nigeria.
The Sultan wished happiness and health to the President and expressed good sentiments for the people of Nigeria. Oman and Nigeria share strong bilateral ties and cooperation in an array of fields, most notably the fields of education and trade.
The national day or the independence day of Nigeria is a national holiday in the country, officially. It is celebrated on the first of October. Nigeria acquired independence on 1st October 1960, from British rule. The celebration is to commemorate the day.
