Riyadh, 7 October 2021 (TDI): In a sign of warmer relations and closer cooperation, the Saudi Arabian Assistant Minister of State for African Countries met with the Ambassador of Egypt Ahmed Farouk.
Relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt have varied according to different events. In 2016, King Salman declared that “to remedy the problems of our nations we must be united in one position.”
Since then, the cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Egypt has been exacerbated. Both nations announced the signing of more than a dozen agreements, including the resolution of a long-standing maritime border dispute. King Salman also added: “We are witnessing today a blessed beginning to reach equilibrium after years of destabilization.”
The Royal Authorities of Saudi Arabia sent their congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt on the anniversary of the Victory. This was a sign of his good diplomatic relations.
Afterward, the two brotherly countries have held several diplomatic meetings. Therefore, in today’s meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and topics of common concern.
