Riyadh, 4 June 2024 (TDI): On 3rd June 2024 Egypt and Jordan write to Saudi King Salman regarding prospects of improvement of bilateral ties. On behalf of Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, Dr. Abdul Rahma, Deputy Minister for International Multilateral Affairs, accepted these messages.
At Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh, he had meetings with Ahmed Farouk, ambassador of Egypt, and Dr. Haitham Al Foul ambassador of Jordan. During the meetings, common interests and strategies for improving ties between these nations were reviewed and addressed.
Jordan-Saudi Arabia Ties
Over the years, the strategic alliance between Jordan and Saudi Arabia has grown stronger. They have been working together on regional crises such as Gaza, Syria, and Iraq. Subsequently, they assist refugees and offer humanitarian relief in addition to coordinating border security and exchange of intelligence.
Furthermore, diplomatic means are sought out for peaceful resolution of conflicts in the region. Their objective is to improve trade and economic cooperation. Both Jordan and Saudi Arabia intend to modernize infrastructure and secure border crossings as well as increase the connectivity of land transportation.
Under the landmark agreement finalized in December 2023, customs processes have begun to be streamlined. Additionally, the two nations collaborate on bringing Israel and Hamas to an ongoing ceasefire. They attempt to work for secure and swift humanitarian aid delivery to the Gaza Strip.
Egypt-Saudi Arabia Ties
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Kamal visited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in April 2024 for the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Special Meeting. Resultantly, the two countries’ bilateral ties have significantly strengthened.

The purpose of the conference was to debate urgent economic issues and promote international cooperation. Egypt’s presence demonstrated its determination to strengthen its diplomatic ties with Saudi Arabia.
