Islamabad (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke on Tuesday with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in a phone call to review ongoing regional developments.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X, the two sides exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and discussed bilateral matters of mutual interest.
Since the outbreak of the US-Israel-Iran war, Pakistan’s leadership has intensified diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation.
Just a day earlier, FM Dar highlighted the need to promote peace and stability during a meeting with US Acting Chargé d’Affaires Zachary Harkenrider.
The Foreign Office said the discussion with Harkenrider covered both bilateral relations and broader regional developments.

“FM emphasized the importance of diplomatic engagement and underscored the urgent need to promote peace and stability in the region,” the ministry statement said.

Last week, Dar also held phone conversations with counterparts from several Gulf states and other countries, stressing de-escalation and the pursuit of dialogue in line with the principles of the United Nations Charter.
