Islamabad, 15 September 2021 (TDI): Prime Minister Imran Khan will leave for a two-day visit (16-17 September 2021) to Tajikistan tomorrow at the invitation of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon. He will attend the 20th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of State (SCO-CHS) summit in Dushanbe.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the first session of the Pakistan-Tajikistan Business Forum. For this purpose, a delegation of Pakistani businessmen will also visit Dushanbe. According to Foreign Office spokesperson, Asim Iftikhar, the Joint Business Forum will strengthen the trade and investment relations. He further stated that it will be a golden opportunity to establish business-to-business contacts between the trading communities of both sides. A meeting of the Pakistan-Tajikistan Joint Business Council will also take place on the sidelines.
The Prime Minister will, later on, engage in bilateral meetings with other heads of the state. The visit is a part of Pakistan’s “Vision Central Asia” policy. This policy aims to enhance relations with Central Asian states particularly in trade, investment, and cultural domains.
