“We firmly believe that a more modernized and open China will offer a solid foundation and greater momentum for the further deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Ukraine,” Ma said.
He also expressed his commitment to strengthening China-Ukraine relations, stating that despite the long and challenging journey ahead, perseverance would lead to success.
Ma emphasized that it was both a profound responsibility and an honor to serve as ambassador and pledged to dedicate himself to promoting bilateral cooperation and exchanges.
The ambassador further noted that he hoped to receive broad support from various sectors in Ukraine, engage in candid exchanges, and explore new opportunities for collaboration to write a new chapter in the strategic partnership between the two countries.
China and Ukraine have maintained a close relationship since the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
The bilateral ties have remained resilient, even amidst the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
In light of the ongoing security situation in Ukraine, the Chinese Embassy issued a notice on Wednesday, warning Chinese nationals to avoid traveling to Ukraine.
Those who remain in the country have been advised to stay vigilant, monitor local security updates, and take necessary precautions, including preparing for evacuation if needed.
The embassy also urged nationals to take shelter during air raid alerts, which have become increasingly frequent due to heightened risks of airstrikes.
