Nur Sultan, 14 September 2022 (TDI):  The President of China, Xi Jinping, received the highest order of Kazakhstan, the Order of Golden Eagle, by the President of Kazakhstan, on Wednesday.

The Chinese President received the Order of “Altyn Kyran”. It was awarded for his special contribution to the strengthening and development of bilateral political, economic, and cultural ties between China and Kazakhstan.

The Golden Eagle (Altyn Kyran award) was awarded to Xi in a ceremony that he attended in Kazakhstan’s capital, Nur Sultan.

State Visit of China’s President to Kazakhstan

On a state visit, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan on Wednesday. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and a group of senior officials gave the Chinese President a warm welcome when he arrived at the Nur Sultan Nazarbayev International Airport.

Furthermore, the officials of Kazakhstan included Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tileuberdi and Mayor of Nur-Sultan Altai Kulginov.

Moreover, the Chinese President will travel to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from September 14 to September 16. Kazakh President, Tokayev, and Uzbek President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, invited the Chinese President. The officials will attend the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Samarkand.

Statements of China’s President on arrival:

On his arrival in Kazakhstan, Chinese President Xi made a few statements. President Xi said, “China and Kazakhstan are good neighbours, good friends, and good partners connected by mountains and rivers and standing together through thick and thin. Over the past three decades since the establishment of diplomatic relations, our two countries have enjoyed mutual respect, good neighbourliness, mutual support, and cooperation for mutual benefit.

The bilateral relationship has grown by leaps and bounds and reached the high level of a permanent comprehensive strategic partnership. Our two countries have consolidated political mutual trust, conducted fruitful Belt and Road cooperation, and engaged in close and efficient coordination on international affairs, to the benefit of our two peoples.

During this visit, I will hold talks with President Tokayev for an in-depth exchange of views on growing the China-Kazakhstan permanent comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era. Together, we will draw a new blueprint for comprehensive cooperation between our two countries.

I believe that the visit will bring new and strong impetus to the shared progress and prosperity of our two countries.”
