Beijing, 1 October 2023 (TDI): In a show of solidarity and sympathy, Chinese President Xi Jinping conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, following the tragic series of bomb attacks that shook the nation.

These attacks, which unfolded in the Mastung district of Baluchistan during an Eid Miladun Nabi (ﷺ) procession and in the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a day earlier, resulted in the loss of numerous innocent lives.

The President of China expressed his profound shock upon learning about these heinous attacks, which inflicted heavy casualties.

On behalf of the Chinese government as well as its people, he mourned deeply for the victims along with extending sincere sympathies to the grieving families and the injured.

In the devastating attack on the Eid Miladun Nabi procession in Mastung, at least 55 people, including a brave policeman, lost their lives, and another 60 individuals sustained injuries due to a suicide bomber’s cowardly act.

In another display of remarkable courage, the vigilant police in Hangu thwarted a suicide attack at a mosque on the same day, preventing a potentially catastrophic loss of life.

Tragically, four security personnel lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Zhob’s Sambaza area. President Xi emphasized China’s unwavering stance against all forms of terrorism

In this vein, he reaffirmed the nation’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s efforts to preserve national stability and security.

Aside from that, on this solemn occasion, Chinese Premier Li Qiang also extended his condolences to the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwarul Haq Kakar.

He underscored China’s commitment to stand with Pakistan during these challenging times. This expression of solidarity reflects the enduring bond between China & Pakistan and their shared determination to combat the scourge of terrorism together.
