Islamabad, 2 October 2023 (TDI): At the special invitation of the Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani is visiting China to participate in the 3rd Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation, being held in Nyingchi, Tibet Autonomous Region, from 4-5 October 2023.

The Trans-Himalaya Forum, inaugurated in 2018, seeks to foster profound collaboration among countries in the region on a range of vital topics, encompassing geographical connectivity, environmental protection, ecological preservation, and the strengthening of cultural ties.

However, the last in-person meeting of the Forum was held in 2019. The theme of this year’s Forum is “Ecological Civilization and Environmental Protection.”

The previous in-person gathering of the Forum transpired in 2019, emphasizing the significance of this year’s event as a platform for renewed discussions and initiatives.

During his stay in Tibet, Foreign Minister Jilani will address the Opening Ceremony of the Trans-Himalaya Forum.

In addition to addressing the forum’s inaugural session, Foreign Minister Jilani will engage in productive discussions with esteemed dignitaries from the region.

Notable among these meetings will be his interactions with the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, the Foreign Minister of China, and the Interim Foreign Minister of Afghanistan.
