Chinese Foreign Minister talks with Iranian counterpart

Beijing, 8 November 2021 (TDI): Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi talked with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian on a phone call. The phone conversation was held on Saturday, 6 November 2021.

The two counterparts discussed bilateral relations. They emphasized expanding cooperation to strengthen bilateral relations. They also discussed matters of mutual interest.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that China and Iran are comprehensive partners. He further stated that the changing international situation can not affect the friendly relationship between China and Iran. China will continue to enhance its cooperation with Iran to bring mutual benefits for the people of the two countries, he added.

Chinese Foreign Minister stressed that China will continue to cooperate with Iran to promote multilateralism and to oppose unilateralism. He said that China will safeguard the policy of non-interference in the world. China will also protect the common interests of developing states, he added.

China to strengthen anti-pandemic cooperation with Iran

Wang Yi also emphasized that China will continue to enhance its anti-pandemic cooperation with Iran. China will not abandon its anti-pandemic support until the pandemic is defeated, he added.

China welcomes Iranian decision to resume Nuclear Talks

Chinese Foreign Minister also appreciated the Iranian decision to resume the negotiations over the Iranian Nuclear Deal. He said that the Iranian return to talks expresses the Iranian positive attitude towards the deal. The Iranian Nuclear Talks will resume under the framework of the Joint Action Plan of Action (JCPOA).

China urges the US to show responsibility in Nuclear Talks

Wang also urged the United States to correct its wrong policies and to take concrete actions to make the talks successful. He said that the US’ unilateral decisions will not only harm the Nuclear Deal but it will also disturb the peace of the region. Therefore, the US should show responsibility in the Iranian Nuclear Deal, he added.

Chinese Foreign Minister stated that all parties should cooperate in order to make the talks successful. He emphasized the importance of the talks. He expressed Chinese support for Iran to strengthen its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

China congratulates Iran on holding Ministerial Conference

Wang also congratulated the Iranian Foreign Minister on holding a successful Second Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan’s Neighboring states. He said that China is committed to cooperating with Iran and other parties to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Iranian Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation between Iran and China. He said that Iran and China are comprehensive strategic partners.

Iran thanks China for anti-pandemic cooperation

Abdollahian thanked China for its continuous support against the pandemic. He hoped that the anti-pandemic cooperation between Iran and China will help to deepen the bilateral relations.

Iran acknowledges Chinese support over JCPOA

Iranian Foreign Minister also appreciated the Chinese stand on JCPOA. He said that Iran looks forward to cooperating with China to make the Nuclear Talks successful. He said that Iran attaches great importance to the Nuclear Talks. Iran will enhance coordination with IAEA and will invite the agency’s Director-General to visit Iran, he added.

China and Iran enjoy friendly relations. The two counterparts agreed to further enhance the cooperation to strengthen the bilateral relations.
