Chairman Senate extend facilitations on Victory Day for Azerbaijan

Islamabad, 8 November 2021 (TDI):  Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has extended facilitations to the Government, Parliament, and People of Azerbaijan on the 1st Anniversary of Victory Day of Azerbaijan.

In his message, Chairman Senate said “On the auspicious occasion of the 1st Anniversary of Victory Day of Azerbaijan, The Senate of Pakistan extends its felicitations to the Government & People of  Pakistan supports Azerbaijan’s legitimate position and restoration of its territorial integrity and sovereignty in accordance with the UN Security Council and OIC resolutions.”

Earlier, Speaker National Assembly Asad  Qaiser, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also shared their messages of support and congratulations on the occasion of Victory Day.

Globally Azerbaijanis are celebrating November 8th as a Victory Day to mark the one year anniverary of Azerbaijan’s victory against Armenia after a six week war over Nagorono-Karabakh.

A year ago, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev declared November 8th as the Victory day. This was also the day when Azerbaijan caputred the city of Shusha. As a result of this triumph, Armenia was forced to accept the peace truce facilitated by Russia.

Celeberations are going on in Baku as military cadets carried a huge national flag across Baku as mark of respect and pride.

The war erupted in Spetember last year making it one of the intense ecalation of the conflict between two cacusian neighbours. The 44 days war and fighting contiued killing thousands of innocent people on both sides. Azrbaijani military thwarted the attacks and moved deep into Nagorno-Karabakh.

Russian brokered agreement ended the conflict returning the significant part of Nagorno-Karabkh to Azerbaijan. This agreement also requires Armenia to hand over all regions back to Azerbaijan. Russia has also deployed 2000 peacekeepers in the region for the next five year according to the peace deal.

After the deal, Azerbaijanis across the globe and in the country celeberated this just victory while there was a massive protest against Armenian Prime Minister.
