Islamabad, 14 November 2021 (TDI): Australia beat Pakistan in the Semi-final match of the T20 World Cup. They won the match by five wickets to reach the final against New Zealand in Dubai. Despite the loss, Chinese Diplomats lauded the remarkable performance of the Green Shirts in the T20 World Cup.

Ambassador Nong Rong on Pakistan’s Performance

Ambassador Nong Rong, the Ambassador of China to Pakistan; came forward to praise the Pakistani Cricket Team through a tweet. He said that the players performed incredibly well and brought happiness and confidence through their outstanding performance. He also wished them better luck in the future.

Zhang Heqing, Chinese Cultural Counselor & Director

Zhang Heqing, Chinese Cultural Counselor & Director, also took to Twitter to express his solidarity with the Pakistani Cricket Team. He commended the performance of the Shaheens during the T20 World Cup and wished them luck for their future performances.

Prior to the loss in Semifinal, Pakistan won all its five matches in the tournament. The captain of the team, Babar Azam held the second position in the scorer’s chart.

Australia and Pakistan’s cricket teams last faced each other in November 2019. The three-match series was won by Australia. However, despite Australia’s previous wins, Pakistan still was a formidable opponent.

Faceoff Between Australia & Pakistan

During the faceoff, the Australian team was in trouble at 96-5. This was when Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade of Australia put on 81 runs to finish off the match with one over to spare. However, the tide turned when Hasan Ali of Pakistan dropped the catch of Wade. Subsequently, Australia qualified for the final match against New Zealand.

The 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup; the seventh ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament is taking place in the United Arab Emirates and Oman. The tournament started on 17 October with today having the T20 World Cup final between Australia and New Zealand, in Dubai.
