Beijing, 21 February 2023 (TDI): China, on Tuesday released a concept paper titled “The Global Security Initiative (GSI).” The concept paper is about the initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The objective is to address the international community’s multiple risks and challenges today. The GSI advocates for a common, comprehensive, cooperative, and long-term approach to security.
It should respect all countries’ sovereignty and territorial integrity, adhere to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and take all countries’ legitimate security concerns seriously.
The paper also emphasizes the need for countries to peacefully resolve differences and disputes through dialogue and consultation, to maintain security in both traditional and non-traditional domains.
Likewise, it underscores the need to collaborate to address global challenges such as terrorism, climate change, cybersecurity, and biosecurity.

China proposed the GSI in order to foster a community of shared security and to create a world free of fear and with universal security.
In this being, China has called for bilateral and multilateral security cooperation with all countries and international and regional organizations to achieve long-term global peace.
Following the principle of openness and inclusion, the GSI welcomes and anticipates all parties’ participation in order to collectively augment its substance and effectively explore new forms and areas of collaboration.
China stands ready to collaborate with all countries and peoples who value peace and seek happiness to address all types of traditional and non-traditional security challenges and safeguard the earth’s peace and tranquility.
Furthermore, it aims to jointly build a better future for humanity, so that the torch of peace can be passed down from generation to generation and shine across the globe.
