Yuxi (TDI): China has expressed its readiness to provide humanitarian aid to Cambodia to assist displaced people along the Cambodia-Thailand border, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Sunday in Yuxi, Yunnan Province.

Wang made the remarks while meeting Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, who is visiting China as part of a delegation.

The meeting coincides with a joint statement agreeing to a ceasefire, with Cambodian and Thai foreign ministers leading delegations in Yunnan from December 28 to 29 at Wang’s invitation.

China has been closely monitoring the tense situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border and remains committed to facilitating peace through dialogue, Wang said.

He congratulated both sides on reaching the ceasefire and emphasized that it marks the beginning of a broader peace-building process.
