China invited Syrian player for professional training

-

Beijing, 5 August 2021 (TDI): The Chinese Olympic Committee invited the young Syrian table tennis player Hend Zaza for professional training in China. Hend Zaza recently presented Syria in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and is all set to arrive in China in September.

Earlier, Zaza briefed the media and shared her fondness and idealization of the Chinese world champion table tennis athlete Ding Ning and her dream of becoming like her. Talking to the Chinese media after the invitation Zaza mentioned that she is looking forward to getting professional training in China and reaching the level of skills the Chinese team has.

Zaza recently lost her Olympics table tennis match to Liu Jia the Chinese-Austrian athlete with a score of 4-0 during the preliminaries. Zaza belongs to war-torn Syria where infrastructure and opportunities have been in ruin since 2011 so she wasn’t open to professional training. The opportunity by China can turn out to be life-changing for Zaza as she will be trained to excel in the sport.
