Beijing, 6 August 2021 (TDI): On Friday, Hua Chunying spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry congratulated the new Irani Prime Minister Ebrahim Raisi as he formally held the position in the office.
Raisi was elected as the PM of Iran on 18th June but he formally joined the office on 5th August after the swearing-in ceremony took place in the Iranian parliament.
In a statement, the spokesperson mentioned that China looks forward to the leadership of Raisi and believes in the socio-economic development and progress of Iran under his leadership.
As both nations are celebrating 50 years of diplomatic ties, Chunying mentioned that China fully admires the bilateral relations with Iran and looks forward to enhancing and elevating the diplomatic ties between the two states.
