Kathmandu, 9 August 2021 (TDI): Chinese government in collaboration with (UNDP) United Nations Development Program started a new initiative for the betterment of hospitals in Nepal. The program aims at helping 7 Nepali hospitals to enhance their medical waste system for the efficient handling of COVID19 in the state.
The initiative is launched under (SSCAF) China’s South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund’s COVID-19 regional project in Asia and the Pacific which aims at benefiting almost 1 million people, reported UNDP. Under the program autoclaves, waste treatment areas, and technical training to the health workers to manage medical waste will be provided to the 7 Nepali hospitals that treat COVID patients.
The Chinese ambassador to Nepal also showed good hopes for the triumph of the project and mentioned that the only way to end COVID-19 from the world is through cooperation and development.
