Tokyo, 9 August 2021 (TDI): Jason Kenny has become the most successful British Olympian of all time. He won seven gold medals in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and almost 9 gold medals overall. On the last day of the Tokyo Games, he made a remarkable and excellent defense of his men’s keirin title and won a gold medal in the men’s keirin cycling final.
Jason stated that “Seven gold medals is really special. When you look back on the ones you have already got, it seems easy. Then when you try and get more, you remember how hard it is.” Laura Kenny his wife became the most successful female Olympian in Tokyo and holding surprising 15 gold medals between them.
Altogether, the team of Great Britain collected 22 gold medals, 21 silver, and 22 bronze in the Olympic games 2020. At the end of the games, PM Boris Johnson congratulated the team of Great Britain by securing a 65 medal haul and finishing fourth on the medal points table.
