China and Cyprus discussed plans to pursue mutual interests

Larnaca/Nicosia, 7 August 2021 (TDI): Ambassador of People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Cyprus, Liu Yantao, met with Andreas Vyrasm, the Mayor of Larnaca (the port city of Cyprus on the south coast). The representatives of the two countries met to talk about different ways to promote and expand economic trade and cultural exchange between China and Cyprus.

Ambassador Liu Yantao thanked Mayor Andreas Vyrasm in a tweet. On 6, August 2021, he tweeted, “Thanks to Mayor Andreas Vyrasm of Larnaca for a very productive meeting on ways to forge closer economic trade and cultural ties between China and Cyprus. We see great potential in Larnaca as a friendly city and promising partner.”

Diplomatic relations between China and Cyprus were established on 14, December 1971. In recent years, the two states have developed good economic and trade ties. Communication between the two states became frequent with an aim to reach new heights of bilateral relations by working on new developments and mutual interests in various fields.
