Mexico, 7 August 2021 (TDI): The Ambassador of China in Mexico, Zhu Qingqiao, appreciated the friendly statement by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico. During the first International Forum on Vaccine Cooperation, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard, highlighted the alliance of Mexico with China for the supply of biological products. He said, “In this difficult period, China has been an ally and a friend.”
The First Meeting of the International Forum on COVID-19 Vaccine Cooperation was hosted by Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi. It took place on the 5, August 2021, through a video link. The theme of the forum was to support state cooperation on vaccines and to end the discriminatory distribution of vaccines globally. Representatives of countries from the African, Asian, European, North, and South American continents became part of the meeting.
Representatives from participating states in the meeting praised China for its significant role in leading the world and cooperating in this challenging time. Beijing was also admired for providing access around the world to vaccines, especially affordable to developing countries.
