British Counsellor applauds GB police

-

Gilgit Baltistan, 7 August 2021 (TDI): In a recent trip to Hunza Valley in Pakistan, the British Political Counsellor at British High Commission Islamabad, Iona Thomas has applauded the Gilgit Baltistan Police for their work in the region. In specific, she thanked the GB police for keeping the Karakoram Highway roads open despite the arduous travel and security circumstances due to August rains and landslides.

The efforts are of significance since road damages due to landslides and the subsequent travel ban on tourists could risk security issues. With the help of the local government, the GB Police, and local workers, the Babusar road and Thatta Pani section of the KKH were restored and the tourist influx was welcomed again.
